The side of the rivalry-cooperative continuum that has become such a deep part of Game A civilization. Solving all key decisions through a winner-takes-it-all competition. Presidential races, market competition between firms, sports, scholarships... It is based on what economists call rivalrous goods: goods whose possession makes it impossible for another person to possess it at the same time.
